Tinubu's Appointment has been fair - Arthur Eze

  Igbo billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze, has commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as fairness in his recent appointments of ministers and heads of agencies. Recall that there has been a series of agitations among power brokers and politicians over the recent appointments made by the President. Some alleged lopsidedness in the appointments, while others said they were not carried along.   Enugu State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has announced the death of the State reporter of the African Independent Television, AIT, Jimmy Edeabasi Abaekong. Before his death, Jimmy who moved from Ebonyi State to Enugu was attached to the Enugu Government House. A message posted on the Enugu NUJ platform reads: “It is with heavy heart the NUJ Enugu State Council announce the sudden demise of our member, Jimmy Edeabasi Abaekong of AIT whose sad event occurred on the 29th of September 2023 during a brief illness. “Jimmy was of the Private Broadcast Chapel and hailed from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. “The peaceful government house reporter would be greatly missed by all. “Good night Jimmy! “

Anambra Governor Renames Airport

  Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has renamed the state’s International Passenger and Cargo Airport after the late Chinua Achebe, a novelist, to immortalise him for making an indelible mark on the history of human civilisation. Achebe a native of Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, died on March 21, 2013, at age 82, in Boston, Massachusetts. Soludo said this on Sunday in Awka at the Independence Day parade, to mark Nigeria’s 63rd anniversary, describing Achebe as an example of Africa’s unsung hero. “Achebe, a Nigerian novelist, poet, and critic, gave the African literature an identity and a voice and he rightly reconstructed and refined the identity of the people,” he said. The governor said that Achebe was not just an Anambra hero nor a Nigerian hero, but an African and global hero and yet largely unsung at home. Enugu Council Boss assures Security Yestaday, In company of the State Security Agencies, Isi-Uzo Legislative Council, others, the Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Barr. Obiora Obeagu, l received the State Commissioner for Human Capital and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Malachi Agbo and his team on a working visit to Isi-Uzo council headquarters.  In a statement by Barr. Obeagu, While welcoming the commissioner and his team, hinted the progress made so far in securing lives and properties of the council nothing that his administration will fight hidden challenges   Thanking the Commissioner for showing leadership and and interest in the security of lives and property across the local governments and Enugu State, the chairman assures that the administration will continue to prioritize security in the area.  While responding to the chairman, the  Commissioner for Human Capital and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Malachi Agbo express his gratitude to the chairman noting that the visit to Isi
